University of Michigan Professor Michael Cohen passed away this weekend. Cohen’s best known paper was the famous A Garbage Can Model of Organizational Choice. Along with Jerry Davis, Cohen was one of the key organizers of ICOS, UM’s home for organizational research. Jerry will be providing details about a forthcoming memorial here. Jerry also asks that individuals share their remembrances on that site as comments to this post. Cohen’s passing follows too soon on the passing of Mayer Zald. It’s been a very sad year for Michigan’s org studies community.
